Another day, another dollar. To save of course!

I love my local grocery stores for scoring the best deals for my pantry! Price chopper is having a couple of good deals that I may have to jump on. They have the Michelina's Entrees for $0.69 each, which is a great deal on it's own, but if you go to michelinas.com you can print a coupon for $1/5 Michelina's entrees making each one only 49 cents each! These are great to have for a last minute lunch or for a lazy day when you don't feel like cooking. And they actually taste pretty good!
General Mills cereals are also on sale at Price Chopper for $1.79 a box. Match this deal with a coupon of $1/3 from the 10/23 Smart Source (SS) insert and you can get each box for $1.46. This is an Okay deal. I normally buy GM cereal when I can get it for $1.15 and less, but for newbies this is a good price.
I am so excited to stock up on Oscar Mayer deli meat at Price Chopper! They are running their deal again that if you buy 5 certain Kraft products, you get $5 off instantly (saving you a dollar per item). This includes Oscar Mayer's lunch meat, that I always love to have on hand, for $2.49. After buying 5, they will be $1.49 each! I don't have any extra coupons with this deal but it's still a fabulous price! Check out all the other items in this deal at mypricechopper.com.
The last thing that I am stoked for at Price Chopper is their 10 for $10 sale (but you don't really have to buy 10 if you don't want to). They have their Texas Toast Croutons and Tortilla strips on sale for $1 and there is a $0.40/1 coupon from the 11/13 SmartSource (SS) insert making each bag 60 cents! :) I love the Caesar croutons and the Chipotle tortilla strips! YUM!
This week's Hy-Vee Sale is decent. I am excited about the Dole Salad mixes on Sale for $1.25. I have a stack of coupons for $0.75/1 bag of Dole Salad that I found at a grocery store in one of the aisles (Tear Pad) making each bag 50 CENTS!!! What a good motivation to eat healthy during this unhealthy holiday season. :)
HyVee also have the 5 pound HyVee brand bag of flour for $0.88. What a steal! Six pack 24 oz Pepsi Bottles are 4/$11 (not bad). And Charmin 9 Large rolls of toilet paper are $3.99 (pair this up with $0.25/1 coupon from P&G insert to make an okay deal). NOTICE: All these deals just listed are part of Hyvee's two-day sale for Thursday and Friday (12/1 & 12/2) ONLY!!!
If you want to check out any other deals going on at Hyvee just go to hyvee.com to look at their ad.
Well this is how I am going to fill my cart this week. Anyone else getting different deals? I want to know! :)

The Daily Dollar

At Target I will be picking up some inexpensive dog food for Charlie. Purina One Beyond 3.5 lb bag is on sale for $6.16 and I can use a $4 off one coupon from the October 9th SmartSource insert making each bag only a little over $2. Although this is a small bag, I can buy multiple bags and overall I will save more than buying one big bag and only using one coupon! :)
I love Target for their "Target only" coupons offered on their website or through your mobile phone. Because of these coupons you can use a Target coupon and a manufacturer's coupon on one item making a great deal! One of Target's mobile coupons this month is for $1 off 2 ($1/2) Ghiradelli chocolate bars. Team this coupon up with a $1/1 ($1 off one...coupon lingo) from Ghiradelli's Facebook page, and you can get this yummy candy for 50 cents when you buy 2!!!
If you're ready to bundle up with some hot cocoa, Swiss Miss is on sale for $1.19 at Target. Using 50 cents off two from the Smartsource 11/13 insert and $0.50/2 from Target.com/coupons makes each box 69 cents!
Other good deals: Sally Hansen Nail polish for 4 cents! :) Maybelline Lip Balm for $0.99. Free NYC nail polish.
CVS is having their deal with spending $30 on certain products and getting a $10 gift card in return. I'm not 100% certain what I'll be getting, but it will be good. I'm also excited about pairing up the Lysol no-hand soap dispenser with a coupon from 11/3 and extra care bucks, making this only $2.
Well that's all I can find with two of my four favorite stores. Tomorrow I will figure out the good deals with Price Chopper and Hyvee and post them up! Happy shopping!
Let me know what you found this week! :)

Local Deals this week.

Happy Veteren's Day to all of our current and past military members!
I thought with the holiday weekend, there would be some awesome sales. But sadly, the deals are scarce.
I have never shopped at Hen House, but I may just stop by. They double coupons up to and including 50 cents, which is awesome because not a lot of stores do around the KC area. And I just read on their ad that you receive an additional $5 "every time your accumulated purchases reach $250". This is great for a couponer, such as myself, who doesn't always spend a large amount at a grocery store in one transaction. I'll take an extra $5 just for buying stuff that I was already going to buy. :) Anyway, Hen House is doing a sale that if you buy 5 selected items from Kraft Foods, you save $5 instantly at the register. Last night, while at Price Chopper, I grabbed some coupons that were hanging by the fruits and veggies for 55 cents off any Jell-O No bake Pumpkin Pie Dessert. Hen House has these desserts for $2.69 each. After purchasing 5, I'll get $5 off the purchase and I can use 5 - 55 cents off the Dessert mix, making them $1.14 each. Not sure if I'll get it but it's still a good deal.
Price Chopper has Healthy Choice soup on sale for 79 cents. This is a really good price for soup but I don't have any coupons! Ah!!! With coupons, I normally get soup at 75 cents or less, so although the store price is awesome, I can still get it cheaper. Ocean spray is on sale for $1.89 a bottle and there is a coupon online for a free Ocean Spray sparkling drink when you buy 2 Ocean spray juices. This seems reasonable enough, and I love juice! :)
Now the sale I am so excited about is the Hershey's baking chips on sale for $1.67. I have a bundle of coupons I found a while back that you get a free Hershey's syrup when you buy 3 bags of Hershey's baking chips. Last year was the time that I stocked up on all my different flavors of baking chips when they went on sale and I am almost out! So it's time to stock up again! Free syrup just sweetens the deal. :)
Well that's all the great deals I could find at our local stores...maybe better luck next week.
I still need to look at weekly deals for Target and CVS (my two favorite stores to shop). I will update with any deals I find good enough to rave about.
Tell me if you find any awesome deals in your area! :)

A Little goes a long way

Today has been a fantabulous day!
Put your wallet to the test to see how far you can stretch your dollar just by taking an extra 30 minutes (maybe more, maybe less) out of your day.
I would first like to give out mad props to Hotspex, a free survey website. A few months ago I began signing up for certain survey websites when I was having (and still having) bad luck on finding a full-time job. I figured with my extra time, I could complete some surveys in hopes to earn a little extra cash. Everything helps these days! Well Hotspex is an excellent survey sight. First of all, I get somewhat annoyed by other survey sights that send me several surveys throughout the day only to find out that I am only qualified for about 10% of the surveys. So for each one I am not qualified for, I basically wasted 5 minutes of my time to be rejected from taking the survey and earning any sort of points for their rewards. This is not the case with Hotspex. They send a significantly less amount of surveys to your email, but the ones they send you, you are qualified to take so it is not wasting your time! I appreciate that they are concerned with the small amount of time taken in my day. :) Well last month, I was sent an e-mail from Carly from Hotspex saying that I won the $250 monthly drawing! I couldn't believe it! I rarely win anything. So I quickly faxed the required information to Hotspex. A few weeks passed by and I never heard from Hotspex. I started to worry thinking maybe I really didn't win anything (that would be more in line with my luck). Well I received my check in the mail for $250 for my monthly drawing winnings! How fan-freaking-tastic is that?! I am pretty stoked! So thank you Hotspex!
On to the rest of my evening. There were a couple of awesome deals that I had to stop and get at Price Chopper and Hy-Vee.
What I bought:
-9 bags of Ore-Ida Potatoes (Retail price is around $3)
-2 Marie Calenders Entrees (Retail around $3 or so...I normally don't buy these too often. I'm picky.)
-4 cans of Progresso Soup (Retail around $1.50, depends where you buy your soup.)
-2  -  4lb. bags of C&H Sugar (I have no idea what the retail is on this because I've never paid more than $1.50 for a bag....)
I know it was kind of a small shopping trip but it was worth it. My grand total for all of the above was...
$10! YES! TEN WHOLE DOLLARS!
A little really does go a long way.
Spending a little bit of my time signing up for a survey site got me $250 which I am still celebrating about!
As for my friend, MR. Hamilton, I wouldn't have spent $10 any other way. :)
Little things like these make my day brighter and my smile wider.
Tell me what makes your day better!
